Glen E. “Gene” Schmouder Jr,

1952 - 2018


Glen E. “Gene” Schmouder Jr, 66, of Milton passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at his home.

Born in Williamsport on February 22, 1952, he was the son of the late Glen E. Sr. and Mildred A. (Scheaffer) Schmouder.  He was married to the former Peggy Kyle.  Together they celebrated 47 years of marriage.

Gene was a 1970 graduate of Milton High School and attended Mansfield University.  He had retired from Pennsylvania American Water Company in 2007 and later delivered flowers for Enterline’s Greenhouse in Milton.

He was a member of the Milton Investor’s Club, Wynding Brook Golf Course, and attended St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Milton.  He enjoyed playing golf and attending Penn State football games, but his favorite past time was attending all of his granddaughters’ sporting events and ballet recitals.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter in law Christopher M. and Kathi Schmouder of Selinsgrove; two granddaughters Madison and Sydney; a brother William F. Schmouder and his wife Ruth of Montoursville; a sister Linda S. Bryant and her husband Howard of Valrico, FL, and his grand dog Molly.

Friends and relatives will be received on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Shaw Funeral Home 400 N. Front St. Milton.  A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Hippensteel officiating.  Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery.

Gene’s family wishes to thank the team from the Hospice of Evangelical, including Kathy, Leslie, Laura and Cindy.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Gene’s name may be made to the Hospice of Evangelical 235 Hospital Dr. Lewisburg, PA 17837 or to American Cancer Society 1948 E 3rd St., Williamsport, PA 17701.



My heart goes out to all of you. Though we try to find comfort where we can, the ache of the loss is there.
I haven't seen you for quite a while, so to me Gene is still an upbeat, affable, smiling guy. Thank the Lord for our ability to hold those memories.
